EITC - JLC again!

On September 12th 2023, The Joseph Lappin Centre Choir had the opportunity to sing for Everton in the Community’s Dementia Luncheon for the second time. Whilst this event usually takes place in the Blue Base opposite the stadium, we had a change of venue and were lucky enough to be singing in one of the function rooms of the stadium itself! The choir was honored to have been invited to take part again and to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community.

We managed to get the members of the choir and our musical director Grace Allwood there with the help of a coach from Maghull Coaches, and one of their fantastic drivers. As ever the opportunity to travel together gives us a chance to connect and reminisce about areas the different areas of the city as we traveled.

The different performance space really helped amplify and lift the voices of the choir as we took the opportunity to sing 3 shorter sets of songs that the audience could join in with. We took new songs as well as our old favourites.

Once again The Joseph Lappin Centre Choir’s performance at Everton in the Community’s Dementia Luncheon was a powerful reminder of the impact that music can have on our lives, and the lives of those suffering with long term chronic illness. Through their beautiful voices and infectious energy, the choir was able to uplift the spirits of all those in attendance.
