Community Choir Guidelines

1. Rehearsals: Making the Most of Our Time Together

Our choir is all about music, connection, and fun! To keep things running smoothly and make rehearsals enjoyable for everyone, here are a few simple guidelines:

  • Come Ready to Sing: If you have time, take a quick look at the music before rehearsal. It helps us all sound our best!

  • Be on Time: We know life gets busy, but arriving promptly means we can get the most out of our time together.

  • Kindness First: Everyone is welcome here, no matter their experience level. Let’s support and uplift each other.

  • Stay Engaged: Listen actively, follow the conductor, and ask questions at the right moments so we can keep things flowing.

  • Limit Distractions: Phones on silent, please! If you need to step out for a call, no worries—just slip out quietly.

  • Take Care of Yourself & Others: If you’re not feeling well, it’s okay to sit this one out. We’ll help you catch up later!

2. Group Chats & Communication: Keeping It Simple & Respectful

We love staying connected, but we also know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed by too many messages. Let’s keep our communication clear, thoughtful, and respectful:

  • Stay on Topic: Let’s keep the chat focused on choir-related stuff so it’s easy for everyone to follow along.

  • Respect Everyone’s Time: Not everyone can reply right away, and that’s okay! Try to avoid late-night or super early messages unless it’s urgent.

  • Keep It Friendly: Texts can sometimes come across the wrong way—assume good intentions and be mindful of how things might be read.

  • Less is More: If a conversation is getting long, consider a private chat or bringing it up in person at rehearsal.

  • Important Info: We’ll pin or email key announcements so no one misses out!

  • Community Posts: Feel free to share recommendations, local events, and ways to support each other. However, please keep the chat free from sales, swaps, or promotional posts about items for sale.

  • Questions or Concerns? If you have a suggestion or concern, feel free to reach out to the leadership team directly.

3. Additional Chat Space for Sales & Swaps

We know that outside of choir, members might want to buy, sell, or swap items, as well as share personal projects or business ventures. To keep our main chat focused on choir and community updates, we’ll be setting up a separate space for these kinds of posts.

If you’re looking for a new home for your old piano, selling concert tickets, or promoting a local craft fair, this extra space will be the perfect spot. That way, we keep the main group chat clear and focused while still supporting each other in different ways!

Thanks for being part of our choir—we’re so glad you’re here!
